**Starting in the 2016 season in an effort to insure quality deer management, all hunt packages will require an additional $150 fine deposit. We ask that you shoot only 130" or above bucks. The fine will be enforced if a buck under 125" is harvested. The $150 will be fully refunded at the conclusion of your hunt providing the 125" rule is adhered to.
All GRand Whitetails archery hunts are 6 1/2 days. Your hunt will begin at noon on Friday and end one half hour after sunset the following Thursday. All stands are provided. Most of the stands are lock on style. We also have some ladder stands and ground blinds. All hunts at GRand Whitetails are 100% fair chase. Late October and November can be a magical time in Illinois. The action of the whitetail rut has left many of our hunters in awe. This is exactly the reason we encourage all hunters to put their time in on stand. Much of our past success has been mid-day. It only takes mere seconds for a slow day to become a truly memorable one. We have a 125" minimum for bucks and encourage hunters to harvest a doe if they so please.
Not Just a Number!
At GRand Whitetails we take a small number of hunters per week. We feel at larger outfitters where they have 15-20 hunters per week, you are just a number. Limiting our number of hunters allows us to keep our stands fresh and with dozens of stands we have plenty of options. A small number of hunters is also ideal after the days hunt is over and we are all back at the lodge. We discuss in detail how your day was, what you saw, what you thought of the stand and any suggestions you may have to better your odds. After that we sit down for dinner. This is the time we really get to know each other. Stories are shared, conversations are many and friendships are made. Many of our hunters keep in touch throughout the year and look forward to coming back. We love repeat hunters and usually about 65% do just that.
